Abstract

This paper investigates the reconceptualization of human-animal relations in light of scientific and technological progress. H.G.Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau(2005) illustrates how animals are incorporated into human scientific research, raising ethical considerations about the extent to which humans are permitted to meddle with the nature of non-human beings. This interference often affects animals, capitalizing on their inability to protest. Through Posthuman lens, this study explores new possibilities for human-animal coexistence within a moral framework, free from the ontological boundaries of Anthropocentrism and Humanism.
