This study aims to investigate the role of civil society in promoting development in Algeria. It also seeks to explore the extent of its contribution by discussing key legal provisions that support its participation. Additionally, the study highlights how civil society manifests its role in implementing public policies for development. The results demonstrate that civil society's actual participation in promoting Algeria’s development is somewhat limited due to several obstacles and challenges. Primarily, there is a lack of legal safeguards, and socially, there has been a decline in citizens viewing civil society as a reliable partner. Addressing these issues is crucial to enhancing the traditional and modern roles of civil society organizations in Algeria.
