This study analyzes the Turkish economic presence in Somalia from the perspective of Robert Kuhn and Joseph Nye's complex interdependence theory, drawing on humanitarian aid provided after the 2011 crisis in Somalia. It also examines investment partnerships encompassing diverse sectors within a limited military framework, where force is used as a training tool rather than a means of occupation, thus creating multiple channels between the two countries. Somalia benefits from Turkish funding in logistics, while Turkey, for its part, seeks to solidify its position as a regional player and a key actor in the Horn of Africa, particularly amidst intense regional competition. However, the application of this theory faces challenges in several aspects, as well as the imbalance in interdependence, which poses a challenge to the desired balance. The study concludes with the need to diversify Somali partnerships, enhance transparency in Turkish investments, and create a regional dialogue.
