الملخص

Abstract This article addresses the issue of simplifying Arabic grammar within the framework of the relationship between authenticity and modernization by examining the causes of complexity in traditional grammatical studies and analyzing the impact of modern linguistics—particularly functional grammar—on reconstructing contemporary grammatical theory. The study is based on a central research question: to what extent can Arabic grammar be simplified and developed without undermining its linguistic authenticity and identity? The article aims to identify the factors contributing to the complexity of Arabic grammar, to explore the role of modern linguistic approaches in redirecting grammatical studies toward function, meaning, and context, and to highlight the contribution of functional grammar, technology, and artificial intelligence in developing Arabic language teaching. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, analyzing the historical development of Arabic grammar and comparing traditional grammatical perspectives with modern pedagogical approaches. The findings indicate that the difficulty of Arabic grammar does not lie in the rules themselves but rather in the methods of presentation and the dominance of formal aspects over communicative function. The study also shows that functional grammar provides a more effective framework for linking grammatical rules to context, while modern technology enhances grammar learning through interactive and adaptive learning environments. Finally, the study confirms that simplifying Arabic grammar is possible without compromising its essence, through restructuring it in accordance with learners’ needs and contemporary demands.
