Abstract: Econometric modelling is a central tool in economics, making it possible to link theoretical assumptions to empirical data. It combines statistics, mathematical economics and economic theory to analyse the relationships between variables, evaluate public policies and forecast economic developments. Econometrics plays a dual role: validating existing theories (deductive approach) and identifying new regularities to stimulate the development of new theories (inductive approach). Despite some limitations related to model specification and data uncertainty, it remains essential to guide economic decisions and strengthen theoretical frameworks.
Keywords: Econometrics, Economic Modelling, Theory Validation, Policy Evaluation, Empirical Analysis, Forecasting.
