Introducing Video Conferencing Technology For Criminal Trials In The Algerian Judicial System

Abstract
Abstract: New technology has changed the way individuals and institutions, such as courts, work together. One of the important areas that has changed is the legal system, which includes rules related to crime. Many new laws and agreements aim to improve and accelerate the performance of the justice system. This means using technology to help in the handling of cases before the courts and to ensure that everyone adheres to the basic rules for dealing with crimes. For example, since 2025, Algeria has begun using video and audio tools in courtrooms to facilitate and speed up procedures. These changes were made through a special law and updates to its rules regarding how to handle criminal cases.
