Abstract: The Algerian constitutional legislator, like the legislators of many Arab and Western countries, has established various mechanisms for the protection of human rights through a set of governmental and non-governmental measures, as well as through official and non-official national constitutional institutions. Furthermore, it has emphasized the relationship between international and national mechanisms in ensuring the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms. This paper examines the most significant procedural and institutional mechanisms relied upon in the field of human rights and fundamental freedoms protection at both the governmental and non-governmental levels. It also explores the extent of the interaction and mutual influence between national and international mechanisms in enhancing the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
