Abstract: The Administrative judicial review of electoral disputes is relatively limited in scope, as it relates mainly to decisions on the admission or rejection of candidacies, the composition of certain electoral bodies, and the proclamation of final results, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law No. 21 01 on the electoral system. Although the administrative judge has the power to annul unlawful decisions and to correct results where it is established that irregularities have affected the integrity of the ballot, this review is activated only at the initiative of the parties and is constrained by short time limits and stringent procedural requirements. Within this framework, the judge confines his intervention to a review of legality, without extending it to an assessment of expediency, and the legislator has moreover excluded certain types of disputes from the purview of the administrative courts, which has adversely affected the overall effectiveness of this form of judicial review.
