Authors : Djourdem Bendhiba .

Abstract

This study examines the legal framework governing medical interventions in the human genome under Algerian legislation, in light of international legal and ethical principles, It addresses the concept of the human genome, the requirements for lawful medical intervention, and the protection of genetic privacy and bodily integrity. The study also analyzes civil and criminal liability arising from medical errors and unlawful interventions involving the human genome, particularly in relation to damage and causation, it concludes that existing Algerian legislation remains relatively insufficient to address the specificities of genomic interventions and recommends adopting specific legal provisions to ensure effective protection of the human genome.
