This research investigates the transformative influence of social media on the learning styles of EFL students at the University of Dongola. The study addresses the growing pedagogical gap between traditional, text-heavy instruction and the digital, multimodal habits of modern collegians. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical case study methodology, data were collected from 55 students across levels two, three, and four via a structured VARK-based questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted through SPSS using One-Sample T-Tests to determine statistical significance. The findings confirm a significant prevalence of multimodal learning styles (p = .000), marking a decisive shift from traditional Read/Write pedagogy toward Visual and Auditory modalities. Conclusions suggest that social media engagement is a deliberate academic strategy that reconfigures the sensory and motivational frameworks of learners, making digital content appear more effective than classroom materials. The study recommends integrating multimodal digital tools into formal curricula to bridge this evolving educational divide.
