This article examines the work of the Franco-Rwandan artist Gaël Faye through the lens of intermedial circulation, focusing on the dialogue between the EP Mauve Jacaranda (2022), the novel Jacaranda (2024), and their extension into a staged musical reading. Situated within the field of literary studies, this research aims to demonstrate how the hybridization of artistic forms makes it possible to overcome the unspeakable linked to the genocide against the Tutsi. The approach combines textual and intermedial analysis to trace the trajectory of a memorial motif across different media. The findings show that music does not merely function as a preliminary stage, but rather as a poetic matrix that informs the structure of the novel. The analysis reveals that the transition between the rhythmic form of rap, the narrative expansion of the novel, and the orality of performance creates a plural “transmission device,” capable of transforming collective trauma into a living and shared memory.
