Smart Agriulture As A Strategic Approach To Achieving Economic Diversification In Algeria

Abstract
يشكل التحول نحو الزراعة الذكية خيارا استراتيجيا لموجهة التحديات الاقتصادية والبيئية التي تعرفها الجزائر، في ظل ارتكازها على الايرادات النفطية كمصدر رئيسي للايرادات، لذلك جاءت هذه الدراسة بهدف ابراز الدور المحوري للزراعة الذكية في تحقيق التنويع الاقتصادي، من خلال توظيف التكنولوجيا الحديثة، الروبوتات، الاقمار الصناعية وانظمة الري المقتصدة للمياه، انترنت الاشياء وغيرها، وقد اعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، مع التركيز على واقع القطاع الزراعي في الجزائر ومتطلبات تحوله الرقمي، وتوصلت النتائج الى ان ادماج الزراعة الذكية في السياسات الاقتصادية يمثل مدخلا لتعزيز التنويع الاقتصادي، الامن الغذائي وخلق فرص للعمل، مع فتح افاق للاقتصاد الوطني نحو الاستدامة. This study examines the transition toward smart agriculture as a strategic avenue for addressing Algeria’s intertwined economic and environmental challenges, particularly its reliance on oil revenues. It highlights the role of advanced technologies—such as robotics, satellite systems, water-efficient irrigation, and the Internet of Things—in fostering agricultural modernization and economic diversification. Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the research evaluates the current state of Algeria’s agricultural sector and the requirements for its digital transformation. The findings indicate that integrating smart agriculture into national economic policies is a critical driver for enhancing diversification, strengthening food security, and creating employment opportunities. Moreover, it contributes to building a more resilient and sustainable economic model by reducing dependency on hydrocarbons and promoting innovation-led growth.
