This study analyzes the impact of agricultural policy on potato distribution logistics in Djelfa province, Algeria, where potatoes play a strategic role in national food security. Despite its importance as a production and transit zone in a steppe region, potato distribution faces significant logistical constraints. Using a quantitative and descriptive approach, a field survey covering 21% of potato producers identified the presence or absence of specific logistical barriers. Each constraint was analyzed individually using descriptive statistics and frequency distributions, following established practices in agronomic research and applied social sciences, where independent items identify specific barriers rather than form a unidimensional scale. The findings reveal multidimensional technical, organizational, institutional, and geographical constraints hindering farm-to-market transport. Results emphasize the need for government intervention to improve infrastructure, strengthen financial and organizational mechanisms, and promote innovation and information systems. An integrated, locally adapted agricultural policy is recommended to enhance distribution efficiency.
