This study examines the relationship between democratic transition in the Maghreb countries and the rise of irregular migration among youth, within a context marked by accelerating political, economic, and security transformations since the end of the Cold War, intensified by the events of the “Arab Spring.” The study is based on the assumption that the fragility of democratic transition processes and the limited effectiveness of political reforms have contributed to growing political and social frustration among young people, thereby reinforcing tendencies toward irregular migration. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach supported by a comparative method among Maghreb countries in order to analyze the dynamics of political transition and the limits of democratization in relation to socio-economic factors influencing migration decisions. The study concludes that irregular migration is not merely the result of economic factors but rather an expression of an incomplete democratic transition. This situation calls for strengthening democratic governance and designing integrated public policies that respond more effectively to youth aspirations.
