This study investigated the relationship between remittance inflows, financial development, and private investment in 16 Sub-Saharan African countries from 1990 to 2023 using panel data from WDI, WGI, and IMF databases. Employing P-ARDL and dynamic threshold models, results show that remittances significantly enhance private investment (p < 0.021) by easing liquidity constraints. Financial development also has a strong positive effect (p < 0.001). Their interaction is positive and significant (p < 0.002), with a threshold of 0.31 indicating varying effects across regimes. The study concludes both are complementary drivers and recommends improved financial systems and lower remittance costs.
