The Need To Reconceptualize Knowledge And Knowledge Management In Kenya: A Systematic Review

Authors : Kimwere Boniface .

Abstract

The primary goal of this systematic literature review is to explore how knowledge management (KM) has been conceptualized in the Kenyan context. The analysis reveals challenges in operationalizing KM practices due to poor coordination and issues with KM infrastructure. At the heart of this problem lies a foundational problem—the lack of a local and African understanding and conceptualization of KM. The systematic literature review includes 32 research articles published in scientific journals. The results reveal that Kenyan scholars focusing on KM have yet to define the meaning of knowledge and KM based on African philosophy and epistemology.
