Mothers' Representations Of Family Upbringing In A Digital World: Between Traditional Practices And Digital Challenges

Abstract
This study aims to examine mothers’ perceptions of the digital world and how these perceptions relate to their parenting approaches regarding their children’s use of digital media. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach and utilized structured interviews as a data collection tool with a sample of mothers. The study found that there is variation in mothers’ levels of digital literacy, that a controlling approach is predominant in their interactions, and that there are differences in mothers’ perceptions regarding the importance of digital media, which is reflected in variations in their parenting approaches toward their children. يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة تمثلات الأمهات للعالم الرقمي و علاقته بأساليب التربية في إستخدام أبنائهن للوسائط الرقمية، حيث إعتمدت هذه الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، و إستخدمت فيها المقابلة الموجهة كأداة لجمع البيانات من عينة من الأمهات. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك إختلاف في مستوى المعرفة الرقمية لدى الأمهات، كما أظهرت النتائج أن أسلوب الرقابة هو الأسلوب السائد في التعامل مع إستخدام الأبناء للوسائط الرقمية و عن وجود إختلاف في تمثلات الأمهات حول أهمية الوسائط الرقمية، ما ينعكس على تباين في أساليب تدخلهن التربوي تجاه أبنائهن.
