Abstract: This study discusses our experience with the local history of both the Mostaganem and Tiaret regions through original sources, represented in the archival documents of the colonial administration and its intelligence agencies, which monitored the public affairs of Algerians during the Liberation Revolution, as well as living sources from dialogues with revolutionary makers, including moujahideen and eyewitnesses who gave us their testimonies about the suffering of Algerians under colonial repression, as well as the moujahideen memoirs and their interviews with various media outlets about the major battles in their confrontation with the colonial army, providing us with a vivid picture of their revolutionary journey. Through this study, we tried to highlight our most important studies on revolutionary activity in the two regions through fieldwork and other works published in books and articles in scientific journals, with the aim is to clarify the importance of local history during this sensitive period of Algeria's history in order to clarify many of the precise details that have remained distant from historical writing. Therefore, this study addresses many of the issues raised in the local arena regarding the value of local historical writings and their detail in order to preserve the local memory of the two regions.
