The Conceptual Context Of The Term “electronic Rumor” And Related Terms

الملخص
The use of technology in daily life has led to increased reliance on the Internet for the electronic exchange of information and news, which now spreads rapidly to a wide audience—even when the news and information are false or misleading. This has paved the way for the emergence of online rumors, which have replaced the traditional rumors that people used to pass along to one another verbally. In this context, we will attempt in this paper to address the conceptual framework of online rumors and social security. We will discuss the concept of rumors and the definition of online rumors, and distinguish between related concepts such as propaganda, public opinion, and disinformation. We will also examine their characteristics, which in turn affect social security, as they contribute to misinformation and destabilize society, thereby threatening its social security.
