Abstract

Root fractures account for 0.5-7% of all cases of traumatic dental injury affecting the cementum, dentin, pulp and periodontal ligament of the permanent dentition. This case report describes the management of a horizontal median root fracture in a 26-year-old adult patient who sustained trauma to the right maxillary permanent central incisor and followed up at 14 months. The fracture was managed using bioceramic material, with emphasis on the successful management of the filling of the coronal fragment of the tooth.
