Social entrepreneurship has progressively emerged as a strategic and hybrid field integrating economic sustainability with social value creation. This article examines the historical evolution, conceptual structuring, and strategic implications of social entrepreneurship within contemporary economic systems. Based on an extensive literature review, the study clarifies the theoretical foundations of the concept and differentiates it from traditional entrepreneurship and related frameworks such as the social and solidarity economy, corporate social responsibility, and social innovation. The analysis highlights the centrality of mission-driven business models, stakeholder engagement, and governance mechanisms in sustaining measurable social impact. By integrating management and marketing perspectives, the paper emphasizes the strategic alignment between social mission, organizational design, and value creation processes. The findings position social entrepreneurship as a hybrid and dynamic model capable of contributing to inclusive and sustainable development.
