Abstract

The present study aims to identify the most prominent psychological occupational risks faced by higher education professors and to examine their negative impact on the quality of education. Based on theoretical literature, it is evident that the prevalence of these risks in the academic environment negatively affects, first, the professors’ psychological and physical health, their motivation for work, and their ability to be creative and innovative. Second, it impacts the performance of academic institutions, particularly the quality of education. Through this study, we sought to propose a set of recommendations to adopt constructive strategies aimed at reducing or minimizing these psychological occupational risks within the academic environment. The ultimate goal is to achieve quality in higher education by providing the necessary support for professors, alleviating excessive workloads, and enhancing communication among various stakeholders within the university.
