Cryptocurrencies: Their Concept, Risks, And The Positions Of Countries

Abstract
This study aims to provide an overview of the concept of cryptocurrencies by addressing their origins, definition, characteristics, main advantages, and types, and then examining the risks associated with dealing with them in order to arrive at the official position of countries on dealing with them. The study concluded that given the significant risks associated with dealing with this type of digital currency, countries have taken different and varying positions ranging from those that allow dealing with them to those that warn against and prohibit it. However, despite these major risks, the increasing use of cryptocurrencies due to their advantages makes it necessary to regulate them rather than prohibit them, given their growing importance, Comprehensive regulation of all aspects of cryptocurrencies ensures that their risks are mitigated while their advantages are exploited. تهدف هذه الدراسة الى الاحاطة بمفهوم العملات الرقمية المشفرة من خلال تطرق الى نشأتها وتعريفها وكذا خصائصها وأهم مزاياها وأنواعها، ومن ثمة البحث في المخاطر التي تنجم عن التعامل بها من أجل الوصول الى موقف الدول الرسمي من التعامل بها. وتوصلت الدراسة الى انه بالنظر الى المخاطر الكبرى التي تنجم عن التعامل بهذا النوع من العملات الرقمية فقد كان للدول مواقف مختلفة ومتباينة بين من يبيح التعامل بها ومن يحذر ويمنع ذلك، ولكن ورغم هذه المخاطر الكبرى إلا ان التعامل المتزايد بها نتيجة المزايا التي تحققها يجعل من الضروري التوجه الى تنظيم هذه العملات بدل منع التعامل بها نظرا لأهميتها المتزايدة، فالتنظيم الشامل لكل جوانبها يضمن الحد من مخاطرها وفي نفس الوقت الاستفادة من مزاياها.
