This article examines the reshaping of linguistic function in contemporary theatre, investigating the radical transformations that have affected the structure of theatrical discourse and its expressive tools in the age of the digital revolution. The research departs from a critical interrogation of the classical theoretical framework established by Aristotelian poetics and subsequent dramatic theories, tracing how the shifts of modernity and postmodernity led to the deconstruction of literary text-centrism and the dominance of the spoken word. The article demonstrates that contemporary theatre has not abandoned language as an essential medium, but has reconstituted its semantic system by integrating digital and interactive technologies into theatrical performance. In this context, pioneering theatrical experiences from both Arab and Western spaces are examined, employing semiotics, pragmatics, and discourse linguistics as critical tools. The article concludes that contemporary theatrical language has become a hybrid fabric that integrates voice, image, digital text, and audience interaction within an open semantic system, affirming that this transformation does not represent the end of theatrical linguistic discourse, but redefines it according to the logic of intermediality.
