This study examines the current situation and future prospects of water resources in selected Maghrebi countries and their relationship with food security. It adopts a comparative analytical approach based on official reports, international data, and previous studies. The research highlights the major challenges affecting water security in the region, including climate change, drought, population growth, and increasing agricultural demand. The findings show that water resources play a key role in achieving food security, while inefficient water management and groundwater depletion continue to threaten agricultural sustainability. The study concludes that improving water governance, modernizing irrigation systems, expanding non-conventional water resources, and strengthening regional cooperation are essential for achieving sustainable water and food security in the Maghreb region.
