The Efficient Markets Hypothesis (EMH) is a fundamental principle in contemporary finance theory. It prompts an inquiry into price formation. The Efficient Market Hypothesis necessitates several essential conditions: investor rationality, unrestricted and open access to information, the lack of transaction costs and taxes, and the individuality of investors. Based on these assumptions, it is concluded that present prices entirely embody the information on the company's value, and thus it is impossible to achieve abnormal profits (outperform the market) utilizing this information, fundamentally, for free. Nonetheless, these principles do not align with the actual reality. Anomalous phenomena have emerged in the financial sector. Since then, other researchers have endeavored to validate the idea regarding the efficiency of financial markets, and debate to examine the efficacy of financial markets, highlighting the most common assertions regarding the issue.
