We are undergoing a tremendous transformation that is not confined to laboratories and telescopes; rather, it reaches into the depths of our civilization. The anthropology of cosmic intelligence proposes that this transformation, driven by algorithms and artificial intelligence, is reshaping our identity as human beings. We are no longer mere observers of the universe; we have become part of an epistemic network connected to machines, code, and the stars themselves. Artificial intelligence has transformed astronomy from a science of instruments into a new cultural and human space, where technology, knowledge, and culture intertwine within a contemporary landscape of the anthropology of science. This article aims to enter into the depths of that transformation from an ethnographic perspective, focusing on how this technology has reshaped the “experience of astronomical vision” itself, and how the status of the human astronomer has shifted within this shared epistemic space, in pursuit of a deeper understanding of the “shared cosmic mind” that guides our field and anthropological inquiry.
