Abstract: This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of cybercrime in the Algerian digital space from a sociological perspective, seeking to understand the social, economic, and cultural factors that contribute to its formation and spread. The paper does not treat cybercrime as merely a technical act, but as an outcome of a complex social context where the individual interacts with their environment. The methodology relies on the secondary analysis of official statistics from the National Office for the Fight against Cybercrime (ONLCC) and the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ARPT), coupled with a critical review of explanatory sociological theories of deviance, such as Merton's Strain Theory and Sutherland's Differential Association Theory.
