This article examines how translation negotiates cultural identity in the light of analyzing the legitimate use of foreignization and domestication strategies in Mohamed Annani’s rendering of Edward Said’s work. The process stands on a focused comparative analysis from English into Arabic; this concise study finds out that Annani balances to preserve source text specificity and adapt it to Arabic readers. The process argues to a large extent that, effective translation posture involves context-sensitive choices which mediate both cultural difference and familiarity. These strategies allow translation to function as cultural dialogue, offering insight and accessibility rather than rigid fidelity or total adaptation.
