Abstract: This article deals with a study of a female writer who was distinguished in her life, in her literature, and in her grief. Indeed, she was distinguished in her grief and isolation. She lived a life full of tragedies, heavy with pain and sorrows. It is the intensity of striving for suffering that creates greatness... This sadness was reflected in May Ziada’s writings, so her literature was imprinted with a veil of melancholy and pessimism as a result of the excruciating pain she suffered from. The writer cannot escape from the circle of sorrows and circumstances surrounding him, so he affects and is affected. She was suffering in silence. But May Ziada’s pain cannot overcome her, as she does not give up to it but rather continues to struggle until the last breath of her life, Thus, she defiantly resists sorrows and groans, and this is how a person should be, never to be defeated in the face of eternity and vices.. May's sadness has motives and reasons that we learn about in this article in order to explain the phenomenon of sadness in her literature which was exhibited through her tendency towards pessimism, her influence on romanticism, then her isolation and loneliness. All these factors contributed to crystallizing the depressed May's personality.
