Abstract: This study aimed to examine the co-integrity between government subsidies, domestic investment, and economic growth during the period 1990–2023 using the ARDL model and the Toda-Yamamoto methodology to determine the direction of the causal relationship between the study variables. We found that the relationship between inflation and long-term economic growth was weak, while domestic investment had a positive impact on economic growth in both the short and long term. Government subsidies also had a positive, albeit not statistically significant, impact on the dependent variable. However, the results obtained using the Toda-Yamamoto methodology revealed a positive causal relationship in the long term، we found that there is a direct causal relationship in one direction between local investment and economic growth. The study also concluded that there is a direct causal relationship in two directions between government support and local investment. The study also recommends that in Algeria, we direct government support more towards major economic activities, and this would affect local investment and then, in turn, affect economic growth.
