This study aims to highlight the reality of media practice freedom in Algeria from the perspective of Algerian journalists, and to examine the extent to which they are exposed to internal and external pressures within their media institutions that may affect their professional performance. The research was guided by the following central question: “What is the reality of media practice freedom in Algeria from the perspective of Algerian journalists?” To address this question, we adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, employing appropriate data collection tools, namely observation and a questionnaire. A sample of 310 practitioners in the field of sports journalism—active across various media platforms (print, radio, audiovisual, and online)—was selected and subjected to field study in order to obtain results that provide answers to the proposed research questions.
