Abstract: This study aimed to identify the extent to which university majors align with labor market needs from the perspective of Jordanian university students, considering the variables of gender and major, through the use of a questionnaire. A stratified random sample of (259) male and female students was selected from three public universities. The results of the study showed the following: the competency and skill domain ranked first with the highest mean score of (2.90), while the alignment and career project domains ranked last with a mean score of (2.80). The overall mean score for the instrument was (2.84). The study also showed no statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) attributable to gender in any of the domains or in the overall score. However, statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) were found between Sharia studies and each of the following: Medicine, Medical Sciences, and Engineering. These differences favored Sharia studies. Similarly, statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) were found between Political Science and each of the following: Medicine, Medical Sciences, and Engineering.
