Abstract

This study examines the role of information systems in activating strategic intelligence within Algerian industrial enterprises, focusing on a field investigation at the Agricultural Equipment Complex (CMA) in Sidi Bel Abbès. In an environment marked by rapid technological change and intense competition, organizations increasingly rely on information systems not only as operational tools but as strategic enablers of foresight and adaptability. The research combines theoretical analysis with empirical evidence gathered through a structured questionnaire administered to 72 managers and executives. Statistical analysis using SPSS revealed a strong organizational awareness of the importance of information systems (mean = 2.52) but a relatively weak implementation of strategic intelligence practices (mean = 1.72). The findings highlight that while the technological infrastructure for effective information management exists, strategic intelligence remains underdeveloped due to limited training, insufficient managerial awareness, and weak institutionalization. The study concludes that bridging this gap requires aligning information systems with strategic objectives, fostering a culture of vigilance, and integrating advanced decision-support tools
