الملخص
The study aims to shed light on the reality of the shift towards the digital economy in Algeria, as a strategic option for achieving development and economic flexibility and to clarify the importance of the digital economy for the Algerian economy, In order to reach the objectives of the research paper and cover all its aspects, the descriptive analytical approach was adopted to define the concept of the digital economy, its indicators, and the extent of Algeria’s direction towards it, supported by analysis of data related to the subject, as it constitutes an opportunity to revive the Algerian economy as a rentier economy, with our review and review of the field challenges facing it. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the national economy faces many challenges to digital transformation, including weak digital infrastructure, the digital divide, fragility of cyber security. In this regard, the study recommended the necessity of preparing an integrated national strategy, by providing the requirements for the transformation towards the digital economy, which is mainly represented in enhancing investment in digital infrastructure, as well as building a balanced strategy between the requirements of the labor market and digital transformation in Algeria.
