The Russia–Ukraine war, which began in February 2022, has generated profound and multidimensional impacts on the European economy. This paper investigates the consequences of the conflict by focusing on macroeconomic performance, inflationary pressures, and disruptions in energy supplies. Particular attention is given to the vulnerability of the EU to external shocks, especially due to its dependence on Russian energy and fragile global supply chains.Findings reveal not only short-term shocks, such as surging prices and declining growth, but also long-term structural changes in energy strategies, financial systems, and the pursuit of strategic autonomy. The study highlights the war’s role as a catalyst for rethinking European economic resilience.
