Authors : Tabbi Badreddine .

Abstract

The paper examines the issue of the French nuclear tests during the Algerian revolution from 1960 to 1966 through highlighting the fact that France’s bombing program is considered as a clear violation of human rights and international law. It also analyses the Algerian resistance to such a crime along the geopolitical context, including the Cold War dynamics. Then it explores the devastating consequences of these nuclear bomb tests and France's acknowledgment along the moral and global implications of their illegal use. At last, the study endeavors to demonstrate the dark history of the imperial powers and exploitation of the colonized territories which reflect life-threatening impacts of nuclear weapons on civilians all over the world and the need for a more just and equitable world.
