Authors : Toumi Soumeya .

Abstract

In light of the intense competition that characterizes the modern manufacturing environment, this has led many industrial campanies to use the Design to Cost strategy as one of the most important cost engineering techniques that help companies to determine the ideal designs to control the project life cycle starting from the design phase. Given the nature of the study, we used the descriptive approach and the analytical approach. By applying the case study to Dacia-Renault Group, the study concluded that the Design to Cost enables companies to balance Cost/Quality/Price in line with changing and increasing customer requirements, while achieving significant profits and controlling product costs more precisely from the design phase.
