The paper addressed the redevelopment of downtown Jeddah as part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of life and transform Saudi cities into global metropolises. The study focused on the urban challenges resulting from rapid and uncontrolled growth, particularly informal settlements, which pose a physical, social, and economic challenge. The research relied on a qualitative descriptive approach and case study analysis of four main neighborhoods: Al-Kandara, Al-Sahifa, Al-Baghdadiya, and Al-Ammariya, reviewing the procedural stages of development. The results showed that the project was implemented according to a comprehensive plan with the participation of more than 500 experts. Thirty-two informal settlements were removed to develop modern infrastructure, cultural and tourist attractions, and advanced residential and commercial neighborhoods, while adopting effective mechanisms for population management through compensation programs, alternative housing, and government-supported social services. The research concluded that the Jeddah Central Project is not merely an urban development project, but rather a comprehensive urban transformation that reflects the integration of planning with social justice and environmental sustainability. The study recommended generalizing this model in future projects, while enhancing community participation, developing interim evaluation tools, and linking urban development to the city's cultural and social identity to ensure the sustainability of urban development.
