This study examines the ethical standards governing media practice in the digital space in Algeria, with the aim of highlighting the necessity of adhering to professional ethics amid the rapid expansion of electronic publishing and the resulting legislative gaps. Adopting a descriptive and comparative methodology, the study analyzes the ethical and legal principles enshrined in Algerian organic law No 12/05 of 2012 and organic law No. 23/14 of 2023 as primary analytical tools. The findings reveal, first that Algerian legislation has granted broader freedom to media practice while maintaining a strong emphasis on ethical responsibility, and second that organic law No 23/14 represents a significant development by establishing a regulatory authority for electronic journalism to ensure ethical compliance in the digital media environment.
