Abstract

"This research paper aimed to investigate the perceptions of distance learning among a sample of students at the University of Minnesota (USA) by examining its pros and cons. A questionnaire titled 'The Pros and Cons of Distance Learning' was administered to 74 students. The findings revealed a strong agreement with the benefits of distance learning, particularly in terms of its ease of use, perceived advantages, and the positive attitude students hold towards it. Simultaneously, the study also identified significant agreement with the disadvantages of distance learning, which included negative psychological and health effects, as well as technical difficulties. Furthermore, the results confirmed a statistically significant negative relationship between negative attitudes toward e-learning and a positive orientation toward it (at α = 0.05). In conclusion, while distance learning offers notable benefits, its challenges, particularly those related to attitudes and well-being, require further consideration.
