Humanity is experiencing unprecedented advancements driven by the scientific and digital revolutions, with artificial intelligence (AI) emerging at the forefront as a hallmark of accelerated technological progress. AI has rapidly integrated into nearly every sector, including the justice system. This paper investigates the implications of AI algorithms on judicial processes, particularly in light of the substantial legal ambiguities and regulatory gaps surrounding these technologies, which are capable of executing complex tasks in seconds. It further analyzes the ethical and professional dilemmas posed by AI for legal professionals — the so-called "wearers of the black robe" — and underscores the urgent need for the justice sector to adapt to digital transformation in harmony with ongoing scientific and technological developments. Particular emphasis is placed on the ethical and professional challenges confronting the Algerian judiciary within this rapidly evolving landscape.
