We subject a discographic production to discourse analysis in order to shed light on its symbolic and political significance in the African context. The track in question is "Un peu de soleil" by Guineo-Ecuadorian artist Cano, released in 2013 and featuring seven internationally renowned African artists. The allusion to the sun, the gender parity, the diversity of countries of origin and the plurality of languages all reflect the desire to unite the whole of sub-Saharan Africa and its Diaspora on the same stage, speaking with one voice to show the way forward in the education of the continent’s children.
