This study explores the role of Islamic banks in sovereign sukuk issuance in Algeria, emphasizing their contribution to economic development, challenges, and opportunities. Using a combination of statistical tests, including t-tests and correlation analyses, the research evaluates perceptions of sukuk as a Sharia-compliant alternative to conventional bonds. The findings reveal that Islamic banks are pivotal in sukuk issuance, fostering investor confidence and providing a conducive environment for market development. However, the need for stronger cooperation between banks and the government, as well as improvements in the regulatory framework, was identified as a significant barrier. The study highlights the need for legislative reforms, awareness campaigns, and training programs to address these challenges. Recommendations include enhancing Sharia-compliant legislation, fostering collaboration between stakeholders, and investing in capacity building. These measures aim to position sukuk as a vital instrument for diversifying Algeria's economy and advancing sustainable financial solutions.
