Studying the origins and development of diplomacy in the modern world is of paramount importance. It is essential to examine the origins of diplomacy, explore its scope, and attempt to define its theory. This paper seeks to address the origins and development of diplomatic immunity in Islam and international law, as well as its sources and foundations in both. The paper will define the main methodological problem by addressing whether the origins and development of diplomacy in Islam and international law are based on Islamic principles to guarantee security for both Muslims and non-Muslims, or on both. It also aims to highlight that the development of diplomacy in Islam began before the emergence of international laws related to it. The methodology employed in this research is a library-based study, reviewing relevant literature and focusing on the subject matter. This is followed by an analysis and discussion of the content of the materials used. The study concludes that the origins of diplomacy in Islamic law are derived from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (Prophetic traditions). It also indicates that the privileges and immunities of diplomats are derived from the rules of modern international law
