الملخص

تسعى العديد من دول العالم إلى توسيع الشمول المالي، وتعتبر كينيا من الاقتصاديات النامية التي استخدمت نموذجا رائداً للقيام بذلك، من خلال استغلال المنصات الرقمية والتي منها M-Pesa، بهدف هذا البحث لتقديم الشرح المناسب للشمول المالي واهميته، وتتمثل إشكالية البحث في دراسة دور منصة M-Pesa في تعزيز الشمول المالي في كينيا، من خلال اتباع منهجية معتمدة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال الاحصائيات التي تم الحصول عليها من التقارير الخاصة بالمنصة أو ضمن الدراسات التي تم الاطلاع عليها والمؤشرات ذات الصلة. وخلصت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن M-Pesa تعتبر من أنجح منصات الدفع وتحويل الأموال باستخدام الهواتف النقالة وقدرتها على ايجاد حلول مبتكرة لمواجهة تحديات نقص الوصول للخدمات والمنتجات المالية المقدمة من قبل البنوك والمؤسسات المالية الأخرى. لكن رغم نجاحها الأولي فهي تواجه تحديات متسارعة يمكن أن تعيق تقدمها المستقبلي. Many countries around the world are striving to expand financial inclusion, Kenya is among the developing economies that have adopted a pioneering model to achieve this through the utilization of digital platforms, including M-Pesa. This research aims to provide an appropriate explanation of financial inclusion and its importance. This research problem focuses on studying the role of M-Pesa platform in enhancing financial inclusion in Kenya by adopting a descriptive-analytical methodology based on statistics obtained from reports related to the platform, studies reviewed, and relevant indicators. The findings of the study revealed that M-Pesa is one of the most successful mobile-based payment and money transfer platforms, demonstrating its ability in provide innovative solutions to address challenges related to limited access to financial services and products offered by banks and other financial institutions. However, despite its initial success, the platform faces accelerating challenges that could hinder its future progress.
