Interest And Its Role In Partisan Political Militancy: A Theoretical study Of The Determinants Of Partisan Work

Abstract
The study aims at uncovering the role of interests within political parties. These interests are related to political positions at different levels of the party hierarchy or gained by militants out of the party institution by means of elections. The latter interests fall under strong competition, which can cause political divisions in the absence of channels to satisfy the increasing demands for them, according to each militant’s social resource structure and where collective incentives become insufficient, as the most active members have a tendency to obtain individual privileges aligning with their personal ambitions.
