Abstract: This empirical research presents a novel approach to understanding and optimizing football training practices in Algeria by integrating social media analytics with sports science, particularly in contexts with technological limitations. The study aims to explore how digital engagement behavior, sentiment, and social networks can complement the training process, thereby adding insights to the physiological training of Algerian football players. The study employed innovative mixed methods over six months, involving 156 players from twelve teams competing in three divisions of the Algerian Football League. Social media data were automatically extracted (scraped) to include posting frequency, interactions, and content, and sentiment was analyzed using VADER for both Arabic and French dialects. Physical performance parameters included GPS technology and Training Load metrics. The results revealed a positive statistical correlation of 0.58 between social media engagement and training load. Furthermore, sentiment analysis demonstrated a link between emotional indicators and training load outputs over the preceding 48-hour period. Additionally, communication centrality was found to influence physical performance levels and team cohesion. The research underscores the significant value of social media indicators in extracting insights regarding physical and training outcomes.
