This paper examines how advertising communications contributed to the sustainability of the desert tourism sector in Algeria during the COVID-19 pandemic. With severe restrictions on international travel and heightened public health concerns dominating the tourism landscape in desert regions, the sector faced sharp declines in activity and revenue. In response, stakeholders turned to innovative advertising strategies to rebuild tourist confidence. The analysis is grounded in crisis communication theory and contemporary tourism marketing practices, exploring the shift toward digital platforms, the use of emotionally resonant messaging, and the emphasis on safety and authenticity in promoting the unique appeal of the desert. The findings suggest that adaptive communication efforts played a pivotal role in mitigating the pandemic's impact and offer valuable insights for managing future disruptions in the tourism sector.
