Abstract: This article examines how Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go constructs the identity of its cloned protagonists through Jean Baudrillard’s orders of simulacra. Applying Baudrillard’s typology, the study argues that Kathy H.’s narration evolves from representation to hyperreality. Her memoir shifts from documenting experience to reconstructing memory as a means of self-creation. The analysis shows that identity in the novel emerges discursively rather than from biological or historical origins. By applying simulation theory, the study reveals how the novel enacts the erosion of authenticity central to postmodern subjectivity.
